Our sweet blind horse, April, is quite expensive to care for. Every month her bills alone add up to about $100, barring any unforeseen medical requirements. With your sponsorship donation, we can provide belowed April with all of the food, care, toys, and shelter she needs for a full month.
All sponsorship donations come with a downloadable 3.5" x 5" PDF that you can print and place into a card as a gift for a loved one, stick to your fridge, or display anywhere else.
Thank you for choosing to sponsor April, one of the rescued horses at Saving Grace Animal Sanctuary! We could not do this lifesaving work without patrons like you; we truly appreciate your donation!
April's Story: April is the sanctuary's blind horse. Once upon a time, April was in training to be an "on the job" horse. When it was decided April wasn't learning quickly enough, she was hit in the head by her trainer, leading to her going blind. She was then left at a high kill shelter.
April soon found her way to the sanctuary, where she no longer needs to worry about anger and abuse. Due to her condition, she has her own private area, but she gets plenty of attention for sanctuary visitors (and an occasional visit from Tucker)! She is loving and can be sweet and gentle, when she wants. She can also be a total 'mare'; for those of you who know horses, that's code for:stubborn, moody, defiant, unpredictable, challenging... did we miss anything?
